Shopify – Chief of Staff, Engineering

Alamelu Radhakrishnan is a seasoned technology leader with a wealth of experience in engineering operations, software delivery, and strategic planning. As the head of Engineering Operations at Shopify, she partners with senior executives to support the Engineering organization and leads the teams responsible for building the systems, technology, and technical programs that power Shopify.

Alamelu’s mandate is to make Engineering successful, and her role spans across team growth, investment allocation, engineering craft excellence, strategic planning and prioritization, and successful business operations within RnD. She has a proven track record of driving organizational excellence and delivering results through technology.

Prior to joining Shopify, Alamelu worked with some of Canada’s most innovative product and consulting agencies, where she led software delivery teams and helped organizations leverage technology across a variety of industries. She is passionate about solving business problems through technology and supporting and sponsoring underrepresented folks in the industry.

Alamelu is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion, and a champion for underrepresented folks in technology. She lives in Toronto and enjoys exploring the city’s vibrant food scene, traveling, spending time outdoors, and watching horror movies.
