The CIO Association of Canada has appointed Philippe Johnston, CIO for the Social Sciences Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and the Natural Sciences Engineering Research Council (NSERC) as its new Ottawa Chapter President, effective immediately. Regarding his appointment, Johnston says “I am very proud to assume the duties of the President of the Ottawa Chapter. The Ottawa region has such a proud history of developing Information Management and Technology innovation within the Hi-Tech sector as well as developing a modern digital government presence to deliver key services to Canadians.”
Philippe takes over the reins from Cindy Cripps-Prawak, who has held led the chapter for the past 2 years. Commenting on her term, Cindy says “It has been a pleasure to serve as the President of the Ottawa chapter for the last two years. I have benefitted from a rich and diverse national professional network and participated in the annual CIO Peer Forum.”
National Board President Humza Teherany said “I would like to personally thank Cindy for her enthusiastic leadership as Ottawa chapter president. With a strong focus on technology from our Federal minister, I am also looking forward to working with Philippe Johnston as the incoming president as we seek to explore new opportunities for the Association.”
La CIO Association of Canada a nommé Philippe Johnston, comme Dirigeant principal de l’information pour le Conseil de recherches en sciences humaines (CRSH) et le Conseil de recherches en sciences naturelles et en génie (CRSNG) en tant que son nouveau Président de la section d’Ottawa, en vigueur immédiatement. Concernant sa nomination, Johnston dit « Je suis très fier d’assumer les fonctions de Président de la section d’Ottawa. La région d’Ottawa a une fière histoire de développer la Gestion de l’information et l’innovation de la Technologie au sein du secteur de la haute technologie ainsi que l’élaboration d’une présence gouvernementale numérique moderne pour offrir des services essentiels aux Canadiens. »
Philippe prend les rênes de Cindy Cripps-Prawak, qui a mené la section depuis les 2 dernières années. Commenter sur son terme, Cindy dit : « Cela a été un plaisir de servir en tant que président de la section d’Ottawa au cours des deux dernières années. J’ai profité de la richesse et de la diversité du réseau professionnel national et j’ai participé à l’assemblée annuelle du Forum des pairs CIO annuel. »
Le président du Conseil d’administration national Humza Teherany a dit « Je tiens à remercier personnellement Cindy pour sa direction enthousiaste en tant que président de la section d’Ottawa. Avec un accent fort sur la technologie de notre ministre fédéral, je suis également impatient de travailler avec Philippe Johnston en tant que président entrant alors que nous cherchons à explorer de nouvelles possibilités pour l’Association. »
