First graduates to receive Blockchain Certification certified by the CIO Association of Canada and in partnership with the Institute of Management Consultants of Ontario (CMC-Ontario).

Toronto, Jan 18 – TransformationWorx, CIO Association of Canada, and the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Ontario (CMC-Ontario) announced today that certifications will be issued next week to the world’s first CIO Certified Blockchain Professionals (CCBP). The program is dedicated to Application of Blockchain to Business.
“We are so proud of our graduates, they are pioneers!” said Dawood Khan, Founder and CEO of TransformationWorx, and lead on the program’s IP and curriculum. “Over a dozen professionals have been involved in developing the program over the past year, which is continually updated, necessary because of the nature of the Blockchain industry. These graduates now understand Blockchain technology, architecture, emerging and transformative business and governance models, and how to devise their own Blockchain strategy. The program is sort of a nano-MBA in Blockchain with a focus on enterprise application as part of an overall digital transformation strategy.” The course curriculum consists of in-class training, testing, and an applied project, all of which need to be completed to program standards to receive the certification. These first certificates will be presented at the CIO Association Toronto Chapter event on January 25, where IDC Canada experts will review predictions for IT trends.
The partnership is unique, bringing the business acumen of CIOs and management consultants together with the ingenuity and expertise of the Blockchain wizards from TransformationWorx.
“Business Digital Transformation and emerging technologies such as Blockchain are expected to play a pivotal role in the future of our businesses, workforce, and economies,” said Lyn McDonell, President of CMC-Ontario, a Regional Certifying Institute of CMC-Canada. “Disruptive and transformative technologies and business models have become a fact of life, and managing these effectively is now a strategic business imperative. CMC-Ontario is pleased to recognize the TransformationWorx professional development program as one of the ways our Certified Management Consultants (CMCs) can earn the Professional Development requirements to maintain the CMC Designation.”
“We’re dedicated to ensuring professionals have the skills needed to evaluate and deploy solutions in their environments. Blockchain changes daily, and we refresh our curricula twice monthly to ensure professionals have the tools they need to apply the most powerful technology since IP,” added Khan.
Other programs coming this year will include:
- Executive series on Blockchain Applications (Starting Feb 2018)
- Cryptocurrencies and ICO Securities Law and Regulations Course (Starting April 2018)
- Blockchain Solutions Architecture Course (Starting June 2018)
“Being able to offer this certification is a huge benefit to our members,” said Dean Doige, Vice-President, CIO Association of Canada. “We’re proud to partner with TransformationWorx and CMC-Canada on the accreditation of this certification.”
All training currently occurs in Toronto. For more information on upcoming courses, or to apply to have courses delivered in other geographies, please visit www.transformationworx.com or email admin@transformationworx.com.
