At our Calgary Chapter gathering on March 22, we had an opportunity to explore how our members were approaching their own innovation initiatives. The discussion was vigorous as we explored how the Dobbin Monitor Deloitte model (introduced by Geoffrey Cann on February 16) could be used by our own members to assess where they might exploit the value in various innovation initiatives.
We explored perspectives and direct experiences that varied from how to engage your employees and colleagues to assessing the implications of IT to business initiatives and transformations. The experiences in sectors from education to transportation and telecommunications seem to be consistent – as CIOs, we have responsibility to our organizations to understand and bring direct value from investments in technology to our organizations and their customers.
