The CIO Association of Canada is partnering with IT World Canada and IDC on a new national awards program highlighting excellence in digital transformation. The Digital Transformation Awards are designed to recognize the best examples of business or organizational digital transformation in the country. It is open to all Canadian businesses and government institutions.
It’s hard to go to a conference without hearing examples of digital disruption: Uber has displaced taxis, Air bnb is challenging hotels, and Amazon is dominating the retail space. These are just a few examples that show that digital transformation is now key to to survival of businesses and industries. Some experts suggest that because of digital transformation, by 2020 three-quarters of the S&P 500 will be companies with unfamiliar names.
As witnesses to the changes on a daily basis, CIOCAN sees the need to recognize those who have embraced digital transformation and are doing it well. Success breeds success, and we hope by supporting the awards we will be making it easier for other businesses and organizations to see a path forward.
More information, including commentary from President Humza Teherany and Past-President Gary Davenport, can be found here.
Nominations are now open. Association members are encouraged to take a few minutes to nominate a company worthy of recognition. The winning companies will be showcased at a Digital Transformation Conference set for June 14 in Toronto. It would be great to see some of our member’s companies on stage.
