“Shape Your Career” was a very popular topic for Toronto Chapter members and colleagues, as evidenced by the good turnout and the very positive responses to the chapter event held on Oct 27 at the Info-Tech Research Building in uptown Toronto. Executive search experts Larry Chan, from Rosenzweig & Co and Michelle Moore, from LHH Knightsbridge, joined business leader Barbara Hill, of The Grenview Group on a panel that addressed questions and topics that included the career benefits of risk-taking, the importance of succession planning to personal advancement, and the important role vendors can play in your career advancement.
Reinforcing the value of CIO Association membership, all of the panelists stressed the importance of building relationships and having a strong network. One of the quotes from the session summarizes this point: “My network is my net worth.”
It is hoped that a recording of the session will be available to members soon.
Many members were intrigued to be meeting in the former rehearsal hall of the Rolling Stones, and to learn that their buffet table was Mick Jagger’s snooker table .
